What is goal difference?

Goal difference (GD) subtracts goals conceded from goals scored for each team. It rewards teams that win comfortably and penalises those who lose heavily, without replacing the primary ranking of points. On Barxad standings, GD updates as soon as final scores are recorded.

If a team has scored twenty goals and conceded twelve, its goal difference is +8. Conceding more than you score produces a negative number. GD is always tied to the same set of matches that count for points in that table.

When teams finish level on points, goal difference often breaks the tie before head-to-head or other rules apply. It encourages sporting incentive to compete until the final whistle rather than accepting heavy defeats.
